Unbox and Connect

Inside your box, you should find the Ledger device, a USB cable, and recovery sheets. Connect your Ledger to your computer or smartphone using the provided USB cable. Follow the on-screen instructions on the device to navigate.

Tip: Always check that the recovery sheets are blank. If they have words already written on them, do not use the device and contact support immediately.

Install Ledger Live

Ledger Live is the companion app for your device. It allows you to manage your accounts, send and receive crypto, and update your device firmware.

Download the application for your operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, or Android). Once installed, open the app and click "Get Started".

Initialize Your Device

Select "Set up as new device" on your Ledger. You will be asked to choose a PIN code. This PIN is the first layer of security and is required to unlock your device.

Crucial Step: The Recovery Phrase. Your device will display a series of 24 words. Write them down carefully on the provided recovery sheet. This phrase is the only way to restore your funds if your device is lost, stolen, or broken.
